Countdown to the Grade 12 exams
Grade 12 learners have only 109 days to prepare and revise before they sit for their National Senior Certificate examinations on 25 October 2010.
The Department of Basic Education has recently warned all Grade 12 learners to use the remaining time fruitfully as it was important that they pass at the end of the year. Parents were also encouraged to motivate the learners to pay attention to their school work in order to bring home the desired results. Learners are advised to make use of the school intervention programmes that are available and offered by the department.
The department said principals, teachers and parents were persuaded to offer support to learners, but it was up to the young people to accept that they must play an active role in their own education. This however required self-discipline, regular school attendance, paying attention in class and doing regular homework and revision.
On a practical level, learners can access the National Senior Certificate examination timetable at www.education.gov.za/ www.education.gpg.gov.za , if they have not done so already and to formulate their own revision timetables that will enable them to cover all their subjects. It is important that all learners set themselves goals.
